President Mahama Captures Eastern Region

His Excellency, Mr. John Mahama has just ended his Eastern Region campaign tour, started Thursday 21 to Saturday 24 and simultaneously having hatched plans to storm Ashanti Region (NPP World Bank) as from Monday 26 November, 2012.

As part of the itinerary, the president campaign Team in collaboration with the Regional minister, Mr. Emmanuel Victor Smith and his Team, other high ranking NDC officials, and party faithful strategically stormed over 40 districts as well as other constituencies with the purpose of reminding the electorates about the forthcoming general elections and their mandates to retain NDC government to power.

In an introductory speech, President Mahama declared “I am here this afternoon to introduce myself officially to you as the Presidential Candidate of the ruling NDC and therefore I kindly plead with you to vote Me (Mr. John Manama) as your next president of the Republic of Ghana. I however wish to remind you once again that, without mandating the parliamentary Candidate from the NDC, it would be extremely difficult to effect approval in implementing developmental projects. It looks like placing a Boxer into a Ring and tying his hands “

Wonders, they say would never end. That states an old adage. Even prophetically, No one would ever believe if (Eastern Region)despite being the stronghold of the highest opposition NPP and the whole birth Place of NPP Flag bearer, Nana Akuffo Addo, supporters turn-up were high and impressive. Some were able to brake protocols to climb trees and available objects just to catch glimpse of the NDC Flag bearer H.E. President John Mahama.

At Kade, Akim oda, Adukrom,Kyebi, Achiase, The most polarized arena of NPP, were uncontrollable crowds amidst jubilating , dancing and drumming. At certain points, Roads kept blocked for hours demanding audience from the President. En route to the various campaign grounds by road, the President was said to have observed deplorable road networks and therefore used the occasion to promise to fix proper tarred roads within the first term of being voted to power.

He continued “The NDC Government with its Better Ghana Agenda has provided a lot but still we deserve another term to fortify our foundations. “ Yaanom”(referring to the the opposition) has promised free SHS. The Nation’s constitution stipulates that, every Ghanaian is entitled to compulsory basic education. Therefore with availability of resources, the nation shall provide free SHS. The NDC government when retained to power shall continue to make provision of School Buildings, Dormitories, Advanced Teacher Training Institutions to produce more Teachers etc. and eventually provide quality and efficient free Senor High Schools. Personalities with the president at the campaign tour included, Hon. Joe Gidisu (Roads and highways Minister), Hon. Alex Segbefia (Deputy Chief of Staff), Hon. Asiedu Nketiah (NDC General Secretary), Dr. Kwabena Adjei (NDC Chairman), Mr. Godwin Amekuedi (Chairman-Smagow Group of Companies & Campaign strategist.
