Adaklu constituency needs energetic and selfless MP-candidate

Mr. Kwame Agbodza, 39, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Adaklu constituency, at the weekend said the constituency needed a youthful, energetic and a selfless person to accelerate its development.

He lamented that the constituency, which was carved out of the Ho East constituency had no hospital and lacked basic social amenities, whilst the road network was appalling.

Mr. Agbodza said he believed he could turn the fortunes of the constituency around with his youthful exuberance and exposure.

Mr. Agbodza, a Chartered Architect, said this in a chat with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of a durbar in connection with the Bliza festival (corn festival) of the chiefs and people of Adaklu Kodzobi in the Adaklu district.

The festival, which was on the theme “Education, its Importance and Benefits to Self and Community” was instituted in 1983 to give thanks to God for the bumper corn harvest after that year’s famine.

Mr. Agbodza said he would lobby aggressively to ensure that the area got its share of the national cake adding “I am not going to parliament to seek my welfare but the welfare of my constituents”.

He said he would woo investors to the area to facilitate business development to create jobs for the unemployed youth of the area.

Mr. Agbodza said he would work assiduously to improve on teaching and learning in the constituency to raise level of education.

On agriculture, Mr. Agbodza said he would assist farmers in the area to move from subsistence farming to mechanized farming to enable them to cultivate the vast arable land available.

He appealed to the electorate to be wary of politicians who made promises they cannot fulfill as all they wanted was to grab power.

Mr. Agbodza entreated party supporters to promote the ideas of the party and also forge a united front to ensure that they retain the NDC in power.
