Shortage Of Lpg And Frequent Power Outages

A PRESS STATEMENT BY NANA ADDO FOR PRESIDENT 2012(NAFOP)
ON
Shortage Of Lpg And Frequent Power Outages- A TESTIMONY OF MAHAMA-AMISAH INCOMPETENCE.

We the members of Greater Accra Region of Nana Addo for President 2012(NAFOP) wish to express our displeasure, the persistent shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), as well as the unbearable power outages across the country.
As soon as the NDC took over power in January, 2009, Ghanaians were greeted with devastating GAS shortages across the length and breathe of this country. This affected many businesses and LPG dependent commercial drivers and households. The solution Government offered was that, most of the Taxis had converted from Petrol to GAS usage, which had increased the demand of LPG, therefore the LPG which hitherto is being imported by this incompetent NDC Government, would be poisoned with some substances, which would have the potential of destroying their car engines. This was meant to prevent the Taxis from using the GAS which is cheaper than petrol.
As soon as President Mahama took over power from our late President Mills (May his soul rest in peace), he again reminded Ghanaians that nothing has changed, (it is the same old bottle) by welcoming us with LPG shortages and persistent Power outages across the country.
Under the ‘unprecedented achievements’ of the ‘so-called’ better Ghana, Ghanaians are still carrying their cylinders on their heads, searching for GAS to buy, after they have returned from work and are already worn-out.
Any time there is a GAS shortage in the country, there seems to be a rebuttal from the National Petroleum Authority, that there is enough LPG in the country. This is a complete insult to Ghanaians.
Again, with regards to power supply, the NDC argued that they have achieved more than what the NPP did. Yet the frequent power outages have exposed the lies of the NDC government, as the depreciation of the cedi has exposed them.
This means that it is not well with our energy system. The truth must be told. Ghanaians are wailing under darkness every now and then. Businesses are collapsing; investors are vacating their companies and factories, because of bad management of our energy system.
As President Mahama has told Ghanaians, the NDC has done enough for Ghanaians to renew their mandate come December, 2012. But he also refuted the idea that we needed to invest against the future as claimed by the NPP flag bearer, Nana Akufo Addo. This means that, the NDC can no longer take Ghanaians to the next level of improving our lives, which comes with better policies and programmes, such as free education from kindergarten to the Senior Secondary School, industrialising our country, which would definitely create massive jobs and providing quality health care for the downtrodden. But according President Mahama we must spend all we have today, as it is being demonstrated by the NDC apparatchiks who are buying houses for themselves in and outside the country.
Ghanaians have already made up their minds and would vote against the NDC and their team B squad, captained by President Mahama and his Vice.
Therefore any attempt by the NDC to disrupt power supply at the polling centres in order to delay voting and counting in any of NPP stronghold during the election, must start thinking otherwise. Because we are watching them.
By this statement, we are calling on President Mahama and the Ministry of energy to quickly let Ghanaians know the situation at hand, before we enter December, 7, 2012.

Thank You,
Signed.
