NPP MP petitions regional party executive

Juaso (Ash), July 9, GNA - Mrs Gifty Ohene-Konadu, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Akim South, has petitioned the Ashanti Regional Executive of the party, over what she says is the offensive conduct by the Constituency Communications Director.

She is demanding that Mr Victor Adu is called to order to prevent confusion and fragmentation of the party.

In her petition the MP accused Mr Adu of employing mischief to sour ties between the constituency executive and her, setting them on a collision course.

This, she said, if allowed unchecked could have serious implications for the party's unity as it prepared for the struggle to wrest political power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 polls.

She said she was amazed by Mr Adu's unbridled lies to incite the party against her without any justifiable cause.

The MP cited a publication in "The Chronicle" of June 26, attributed to Mr Adu that claimed that she had set a parallel executive within the party and labelled it as pure fabrication to create disaffection for her.

"Strangely, nobody is restraining this man from further tarnishing my image in the media, knowing the implication of his actions on the unity of the party in the constituency."
