West Akyem endorses Municipal Chief Executive

Asamankese, April 24, GNA - The West Akyem District Assembly on Friday confirmed Mr Seth Otchere, the President's nominee, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area. Sixty-five of the assembly members voted for his endorsement, with two against and one rejected ballot. In his acceptance speech, Mr Otchere, a Mechanical Engineer and Educationist, thanked the assembly for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with members as a team to move the developmental agenda of the assembly forward. He promised to be fair and do justice to all and take constructive criticism in good faith.

Mr Otchere asked the people in the municipality to unite so that together they could build a better and prosperous society. The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo, praised members of the assembly for endorsing Mr Otchere, and called on them to co-operate with him for the good of the municipality. He asked the MCE to realize that he had been given a great responsibility and hoped he would live up to expectation. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo advised Mr Otchere to be humble in the discharge of his duties and to be a good team player. He entreated the contractor working on the rehabilitation of the assembly hall to complete the work within the week or have the contract terminated.
