2008 Elections - The Greatest Political Battle In The History Of Ghana

The Lord told Elijah , ‘yet I have left the 7000 in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto the Baal and every mouth which have not kissed him.” - 1 Kings 19:18

The 2008 general elections is a serious battle between the NDC and the NPP. From the Biblical point of view, it is a fight between David [NDC] and Goliath [NPP]. What one hears these days are talk about how the NPP has won the victory in advance; how the NPP is depending on its incumbency and all the state resources at her disposal; how the NPP also has enough funds, especially the money ‘realized’ from the denominations of the cedi etc.

Because of this I am calling on the members of the NDC, supporters and admirers of the party to join the 7000 that the Lord has left in Israel The battle is between David and Goliath, and it is summed up by David in the following words “…thou cometh to me with a sword, and with a spear and with a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of Hosts the God of the armies of Israel whom thou has defied. This day (December 7th 2008) will the Lord deliver thee into mine (NDC) hand and I will smite thee and take thine head from thee, and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air and to the wild beast of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel (Ghana)”- 1st Samuel 17:45-46 Yes, the God of Israel is the God of Ghana.

I am calling on all the members of the NDC to join in monthly fasting and prayer exercise.

That from September 2007, every last Friday of the month should be set aside, from 6am -1pm for fasting and prayer.

This exercise should be sustained till November 2008.

This message should be diffused to all and sundry, especially through the airwaves.

The God we are a calling upon has one weapon which he uses to defeat the enemy It is a weapon of CONFUSSION as demonstrated in the following text:- Judges 7:12-21 – the enemy fled in confusion;

1 Samuel 17:51 – the Philistines fled in confusion;

2 Chronicles 19:21-23 – the enemy fought Against themselves in confusion; Esther chapter 8 – confusion in the camp of Haman.

The NDC is God’s party. Ghanaians, from 1977 to 1979 prayed to god that he should give them a deliverer.

The deliverer was FLT LT J. J. RAWLINGS. Today, some people would doubt this, especially those who did not live through those times, and those who, though they lived through those times, were benefiting from the oppressive system then in operation.

But the word of God gives credence to this.

.Jesus Christ was a deliverer. The devil knowing that Jesus would become a deliverer sought to kill him. - Matthew 2:16 :- “then Herod when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the Coast thereof, from two years old and under according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.”

Revelation 12:4:- “and his fail drew the third party of the part of the stars of Heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Moses was a deliverer. The devil knew that Moses was going to deliver Israel from bondage:- “And Pharaoh charged all his people saying every son that is born (to an Israeli family) ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save” - Exodus 1:22.

Moses’ appointment as deliverer, like Jesus in Matthew 1:21, was approved by God.

“Moreover, he said I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt ,and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows .and I will come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians ……..come now therefore, and I will send thee to Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people .The children of Israel from Egypt.” – Exodus 3:6-10

Therefore in answer to the prayers of Ghanaians from 1977 to 1979, Dr. J. J. Rawlings was given to Ghanaians as their deliverer.

Dr Rawlings was in guard room awaiting execution when the AFRC staged the coup and made him their chairman. This was the work of God to deliver him to come and deliver His people.

And like the other deliverers, Dr J. J. Rawlings delivered Ghana and Ghanaians from the mess that the country was submerged in.

Twice he handed over power PEACFULLY in this country. Never mind what his detractors may say were the reasons for his doing so. The fact still remains that the man handed over power PEACEFULLY twice in the history of this country. He could have gone the way of the Eyademas, the Mobutus, and all the other incorrigible leaders that Africa has had, but he didn’t. And that is a fact. . There is no denying it; Rawlings’ party is the party of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

That is why with all the wicked plans of the NPP to subvert the 2008 elections the NDC should appeal through fasting and prayers to the all powerful God. With this posture, the NDC party would have won in advance.

Already, signs of confusion within the NPP are on the increase because God is in control.

I call on all Christians, Moslems and people of other faiths to join in fasting and prayer on every last Friday of the month from September 2007 to November 2008.

“It is not by might, but by my spirit. Thus sayest the Lord.”
