NDC zonal branch registers 2,000 supporters

Bono-Manso (B/A), July 14, GNA – The Bono-Manso Zonal branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkoranza North Constituency has registered more than 2,000 supporters of the party towards the 2012 general elections.

The registered party supporters are at Bono-Manso, Dwenewoho, Nipahiamoa and Asuoti communities.

Mr Kwame Effah-Sarkodie, Zonal Chairman of the Party told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the constituency executives were updating records of the NDC members in the various zones and also registering new members.

Mr Effah-Sarkodie said members in the various zones in the communities paid special contributions of GH¢ 5.00 per male and GH¢ 3.00 per female to construct a four-room office accommodation for the party at Bono-Manso.

He expressed concern about the lack of transportation for the Nkoranza North Constituency of the party and called on the party’s leadership in the region to liaise with the national secretariat to provide vehicles, motor-bikes and bicycles to facilitate the movement of the executives at that level.

The zonal chairman commended Mr Joseph Mensah, Nkoranza North Constituency Deputy Secretary of the Party for donating a motor-bike to assist in party activities.

Mr Effah-Sarkodie said the provision of the motor-bike would help the party’s campaign programmes in the settler farming communities.

He commended the District Chief Executive Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomoh for assigning a Grader to rehabilitate the feeder roads in the District.
