Gomoa hails reappointment of Joyce Aidoo

Gomoa Potsin (C/R), May 18, GNA - The Chiefs, Assembly Members and people of the Gomoa District have expressed their gratitude to President J A Kufuor for re-nominating Ms Joyce Aidoo, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area for a second term.

Speaking to the GNA in separate interviews at Apam, Gomoa Potsin, Dominase, Manso and Accra they noted that the re-appointment of Ms Aidoo would go a long way to improve infrastructure and human resource development and poverty reduction.

Mr Joe Donkoh, an Accra-based Businessman and Political activist commended the government for recognising Ms Aidoo's performance and stated that there was no need to change her as she worked creditably and had to continue her good work.

He said the re-nomination of the DCE would foster unity and transform the deprived district into an enviable place to live in. Mr Donkoh stated that the re-appointment of Ms Aidoo would enable her to complete projects initiated by the communities and District Assembly to help raise standard of living of the people. He appealed to the Assembly Members to bury their differences and endorse the nomination of Ms Aidoo.

Mr Donkoh urged the DCE to ignore intimidation and acrimony and to concentrate on poverty reduction initiatives of the NPP government Mr Eric Donkoh, Assembly Member for Gomoa Manso Electoral Area told excellent work she started four years ago.

He appealed to the Members of the Assembly to forget about their differences during Ms Aidoo's four-year administration and approve her nomination.

Nana Kweku Twaku VIII, Chief of Gomoa Potsin, praised President Kufuor for giving the second nod to the DCE and appealed to Ms Aidoo to use her second tenure to help the construction of roads from Potsin-Adzentam, Awomerwon-Swedru-Winneba and the Dominase-Potsin road, which had been abandoned by the contractor.

Nana Ewur Attah III, Chief of Dominase expressed the hope that the DCE would live up to expectation and promised to rally behind her in the discharge of her duties to raise the image of the District. The two Chiefs appealed to the Members of the Assembly to endorse the President's nomination to attract more development projects to the area.
