Expel Abu Ramadan from PNC- Northern Executive demands

The Northern Regional Executive of the People's National Convention (PNC) has called on the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) to expel Mr Abu Ramadan, National Youth Organiser from the party for misconduct.

It said Mr Ramadan had on a number of platforms made statements that sought to galvanise members of the PNC to vote for a presidential candidate of a different political party when his own party has a candidate contesting the presidential election.

Mr Abdul-Karim Suale, Regional Secretary of PNC, who addressed a press conference in Tamale on Monday said: "It is not a secret again that Mr Ramadan has on several occasions publicly declared his support for the New Patriotic Party Flag bearer when his own party has a flag bearer.

"With that he has violated our great party's constitution, we see this to be the most unfortunate statement ever made against our party by our own member since the return of multi-party democracy."

Mr Suale said Mr Ramadan's continued stay in office is unconstitutional.

"We believe this is unfortunate and he should have been sacked from office the very day he made the unfortunate statement.

"We are therefore, appealing to NEC members to take action against Mr Ramadan for misconducting himself as well as ridiculing our flag bearer for reasons best known to him."

Mr Suale also advised PNC parliamentary candidates in Tamale "to be very careful in the manner they go about the Institute of Economic Affairs debate issue" concerning the performance of the party's flag bearer saying otherwise they will be losing more votes as Mr Ayariga loses votes".

He called on members of the party to remain calm, resolute and come out massively to vote for Mr Ayariga and all PNC's parliamentary candidates in the December 7 elections.
