Biometic voters' register at Whajah centre inaccurate

Prospective voters who went to the Whajah Square biometric voters’ register exhibition centre at Eniose in Half Assini to check their names at the weekend were disappointed because the provisional register there was inaccurate .

The Exhibition Officer of the Centre, Mr. Emmanuel Benli, disclosed these in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Half Asini on Sunday.

He said the register for the centre, bore the cover title of the centre but names in it were those of people at Anlomatuape near Half Assini, another registration centre in the district.

Mr. Kwabena Asante, Jomoro District Electoral Officer, who confirmed the story to GNA, said he has reported the situation to the Western Region Electoral Commission office.

He expressed regret about the situation and appealed to affected persons to exercise restraint while efforts were being made to correct the anomaly.
