99,400 voters registered in Prestea Huni/Valley constituency.

The Prestea Huni/Valley Constituency in the Western Region has recorded a total of 99,400 voters in the biometric registration exercise.

Out of the total persons registered, 85,000 have received their voter’s identity cards.

Mr Kwadwo Debrah-Gyamfi, District Electoral Officer in charge of Prestea Huni/Valley, told the Ghana News Agency that the remaining 14,400 persons could not receive their identity cards as there were a scarcity of some logistics.

He assured them that they will have their identity cards before the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary election.

In a related development, the Wassa Amenfi East District recorded a total 66,833 voters out of the estimated target of 60,000.

Madam Juliet Asante, District Electoral Officer of Wassa Amenfi East, said due to shortage of registration materials, about 1,500 persons are yet to receive their identity cards.

Madam Asante commended the people of Wassa Amenfi East for the support they rendered unto the registration officers throughout the registration process.**
