Ashanti/Greater Accra to compete for honours

Accra, Nov 29, GNA - The Ghana Athletic Association GAA would on Saturday, December 3, organise a one-day competition at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The competition forms part of the preparations towards the impending Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia next year under the sponsorship of the GAA and the National Sports Council (NSC). Among the selected events are 100, 200 and 400 metres, Triple Jump, long Jump, 4*100 and 4*400 for both men and women. Also on the list are 800 and 1500 meters for women and men respectively.

Mr Emmanuel Oteng K. Aboagye Secretary General of the GAA, in a statement called on all lovers of athletics to fill the stands to witness the event.
