National Karate-Do Championship fixed for November 8

The Ghana Karate-Do Association (GKA) will from November 8, organise the national Karate-Do Championship at the D.G. Hathiramini Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.

A statement signed by Patrick Anyidoho Coffie, General Secretary of GKA, said the championship, which is under the sponsorship of the Japan Embassy in Ghana, is aimed at honouring the Japan Ambassador.

The two-day championship also forms part of activities marking the Japan Culture Week Celebrations as well as strengthen relationship between Ghana and Japan.

The championship which will attracts over 200 Karatekas nationwide will serve as the platform for selecting the best karatekas into the national team.

Karatekas will after the first day of the competition join the Japanese community at Mensvic Hotel, to engage in karate demonstration.

The championship will be attended by His Excellency Kaoru Yoshimura, Japan Ambassador to Ghana and Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Joseph Kpenge.
