Grant is being used as a scapegoat

Western regional football chairman, Kojo Yankah, believes that Ghana coach, Avram Grant, is just being used as a scapegoat in the wake of Ghana’s football woes.

Grant’s future as the head coach is undecided, as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is contemplating on whether to sack the Israeli trainer or give him the mandate to handle the Stars till his contract ends in January.

According to the Executive Committee member of the GFA, the substantive causes of the Black Stars’ performance is not being looked at critically.

He said: “Let us put Grant issues aside. I think the substantive issues about the Black Stars performance is being neglected, sacking Grant will not solve the
woes of the Black Stars. The consistent neglect of the Ghana FA president by the Sports Ministry in the running of affairs of the Black Stars is the cause but not Grant,” he told Asempa FM.

The Executive Committee of the GFA, which has been involved in series of meetings earlier in the week, will announce their decision on Grant by close of week.
