She said the donation was to support health service delivery in the region though the SCASO project and covered eight districts across the region namely, Ayensuano, Suhum, Kwahu West, Fanteakwa, New Juaben, Lower Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo and Asuogyaman.

Mrs Tetteh-Yeboah said many district hospitals and clinics lacked the necessary equipments for effective healthcare delivery and that the medical supplies were to facilitate effective healthcare delivery.

Dr Larbi Addo, Deputy Eastern Regional Director of Health Services in-Charge of Clinical Care, said the items would help improve health care in the districts looking at the difficulties that health officials went through at the various hospitals without proper equipment.

He appealed for more health workers to be posted to the region especially the districts and smaller communities, indicating that the number of doctors, nurses, midwives and other health workers there were inadequate.

He thanked World Vision for its contribution to health care in the districts and the Eastern Region in general.
