Zoomlion gives water tanker to KATH

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has taken delivery of a Donfeng Water Tanker with the capacity for holding 2,500 gallons of water.

It was bought at GH¢70,000 as a gift from Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

Mr. Patrick Odoom, Special Projects Coordinator of the Company, handing the vehicle over at a ceremony, said this was in response to an appeal made to it by the Hospital.

He said they were confident that it would boost water supply and guarantee the referral facility of reliable water provision to enhance sanitary conditions.

He noted that access to good, safe drinking water and basic sanitation had amply been highlighted in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and said his company was proud to be part of efforts at achieving this.

Zoomlion and its sister companies would continue to lead the crusade to rid the nation of filth.

He said it was their expectation that the two bodies would explore more areas of cooperation and partnership.

Dr. Joseph Akpaloo, Chief Executive Officer of KATH, said the facility needed additional 250,000 litres of water a day to augment its present supply 238,000 litres.

He thanked Zoomlion for the quick response and said the tanker would be of tremendous importance to the hospital, especially during the dry season.

He appealed to other companies and organizations to follow the example by accepting to also make contributions towards making things better at the facility.
