Do not politicise the NHIS

Nkoranza (B/A) Nov. 2, GNA - Mr. Stephen Opoku Brobbey,District Manager of Nkoranza Health Insurance Scheme has advised against the politicisation of the scheme "since it is designed to promote the health of all Ghanaians". Addressing field workers of the scheme at a one day review workshop at Nkoranza, Mr. Brobbey said the government was putting in place the necessary strategies to ensure the scheme's sustainability. He asked the field workers to work hard and make sure that more Ghanaians benefited from the scheme.

Mr. Samuel Adu-Poku, Public Relations Officer, advised the field workers to take accurate records of all registered persons under the scheme. He advised pregnant women to register with the scheme so that they could enjoy the free medical care arranged for them. Mr. James Adu-Bonnah, claims manager, disclosed that more than 595 essential drugs had been approved to be given to clients of the scheme. "This means the people would no more have any problems with regards to drugs that would be prescribed at all health facilities", Mr. Adu-Bonnah stated. Mr. Oscar Paa Kwasi, workshop prefect, suggested the opening of offices for the field workers. 02 Nov. 09
