KATH denies suggestions of shortage of ARV drugs

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has denied media reports that the facility has run out of stock of Anti-Retroviral drugs (ARV) for persons suffering from HIV and AIDS.

The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Professor Ohene Adjei, said the hospital cannot be held responsible for the challenges surrounding the Anti-Retroviral drugs in health facilities in the region.

It is, therefore, wrong for anybody to attribute the shortage of the drugs in those facilities to the management of the hospital.

Speaking at a media encounter in Kumasi yesterday, Professor Ohene Adjei said as of October 31 this year, the hospital had received 2,166,840 Anti-Retroviral drugs and dismissed media claims that the lives of people living with the disease are in danger.
