June 3 flood households registered under NHIS

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has registered households affected by the

June 3 flood and fire disasters under the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Briefing the media about the exercise in the Ashaiman Municipality, Mr Richard Akuetteh Adjetey, the Acting Director, of the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection, said the Ministry had enrolled 11,152 households on the Emergency LEAP programme to meet their immediate needs.

He said 624 beneficiaries were covered at Ashaiman and gave the breakdown as the following: - Roman Down Community, 121; Newtown - 112, Middle East- 131, Community 22 -170, and Lebanon - Dam site – 90.

As part of the measures to improve the living conditions and promote their access to healthcare, he said the Ministry, in collaboration with the NHIA, registered the affected persons who lost their national health insurance cards to the disaster.

Other beneficiaries have already been covered at Osu Doku, Osu Alata and Odawna.

He expressed gratitude to the institutions who contributed to the success of the exercise.
