Handball Federation Presidents to meet in Ghana

Accra, June 14, GNA - Ghana will host a two-day preparatory meeting of Zone Three Presidents of the various federations under the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) Federations, in Accra from June 17-19, to discuss the way forward for the Zone.

The ;proposed meeting follows an earlier one convened by the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) Federation during its Annual Congress held earlier at Marrakesh, Morocco in May this year.

The Accra meeting will seek to draw up plans and strategies to accelerate the development of handball within the Zone which comprises Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger and Liberia according to a statement issued by Christiana Dodoo, General Secretary of the Ghana Handball Federation (GHF) copied to GNA Sports in Accra.

Meanwhile, Ghana's National Women and Men Teams have qualified alongside Nigeria to represent the Zone at the up-coming All African Games to be held in Maputo, Mozambique in September, 2011.

The two teams have been on non-residential camping for the past weeks in preparations for the Games and the National Unity Games scheduled for Accra next month.
