Police excels at Handball tourney

Accra, May 17, GNA - The male team of Ghana Police Service put up a splendid performance to beat their colleagues from the Fire Service 25-23 in the ongoing Great Accra Handball League.

Fire Service were the first to take the lead with 13-12 at the close of the first half, but the Police team took over in the second half and maintained the lead till the close of the game. Earlier, the Police female team also thrashed their Fire Service Women 24-10.

In other matches played, Future Stars lost narrowly to Asomdwe Club 24-25, with Ghana Navy spanking Oma Senya 32-12, whilst Ghana Air Force (men) were held 26 all by HOSTAC. Ghana Prisons men also thrashed Tema Royals 50-11 while the Ladies team of Ghana Air Force beat HOSTAC by 17-15 with the Ladies of Ghana Prisons walloping Tema Royals by 52-2.

According to the Week 3 pairings released by Saka Acquaye, Greater Accra Chairman of the NSC copied to GNA Sports, Tema Royals would host Ghana Air Force in both the male and female categories on Thursday, Ghana Navy welcome Asomdwe Club on Friday at the Burma Camp. Fire Service face Prisons Service in both the male and female categories at the Fire Service Academy, Oma Senya welcome Ghana Police on Saturday at Senya Breku while HOSTAC face Future Stars in the male category at the Azumah Nelson Complex on Saturday. 17 May 10
