Suspect Pours Human Excreta On Himself

Police at the Cape Coast District Police Station, on Wednesday had the shock of their lives when John Arthur, a suspect who allegedly stole ?1.5 million, poured human excreta of the inmates on himself, polluting the whole environment.

Chief Inspector Anthony Awusi said Arthur was supposed to have appeared in court on Tuesday, but due to the vacation of judges, it was postponed to Wednesday. He said, Arthur knowing very well that he would go to court, deliberately poured a bucket -full of human excreta on himself with the view to escaping court action. The inmates in the cell were very disappointed at the behaviour of the suspect. Arthur, 18, a school dropout of the Cape Coast Technical Institute, was last Thursday arrested for allegedly stealing ?1.5 million belonging to Mr. James Kobina Biney, Chief Vendor in the Central Region. According to Biney, he was attending to a customer when Arthur clandestinely went to his kiosk, opened his bag, which contained various sums of monies in envelopes and managed to take the said amount. Biney said Arthur pretended he wanted to buy a newspaper but managed to pocket the money. Upon suspecting Arthur's behaviour, the vigilant vendor questioned him as to what he wanted from his kiosk and Arthur fumbled in his response. Biney quickly searched Arthur's pocket and found the money on him. He therefore handed him to the police.
