Ligbidi retains 2014 MTN CEO’s Golf Cup

Kwame Ligbidi played one of the best games at the Celebrity Golf Course last Saturday December 13 when he beat a stiff opposition to retain the 2014 MTN CEO’s Trophy which attracted over 100 golfers including top dignitaries and personalities.
The CEO of MTN Serame Taukubong who participated in the day’s event said the MTN CEO’s Golf Tournament will keep on growing and becoming better with surprises for golfers, the media and golf loving fans.
He congratulated all participants and winners and hoped that next year’s tournament would be better. He thanked them for their loyalty and contribution to the development of golf and MTN as a company.
Earlier, he had presented a cheque for 32,000ghc to the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono in Accra.
On the course, it was wits and power as competitors swag their clubs with power and passion, and took it cool and collected when the reach the hole.
Kwame Ligbidi beat S. K. Ayornu, B.S. Seo, Kweku Okyere and Kwame Kronzu to win the Men’s Group A.
The Men’s Group B was won by Paul Ayitiah who beat a strong challenge from Richard Boateng, Hans Uekert and Kusum Appiah.
Ama Morgan also lost the opportunity to win the trophy in the Ladies Group A when she lost to Joy Arkutu, while E. H. Hong won the Ladies Group B over Maureen Akuaku.
MTN in collaboration with the Celebrity Club organized a clinic during the tournament and it was exciting seeing people learn the fundamentals of playing golf, whilst some golfers practiced there shots on the green.
MTN Marketing Officials took opportunity of the day to inform people about the company’s new services and devices.
