Amenyo grabs Tigo Tema Open Golf trophy

Peter Amenyo returned a gross score of 142 to win this year’s Tigo Tema Open Golf Championship which ended at the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday.

He was followed by Maxwell Owusu Bonsu with 145 gross, Yao Dogbe placed third with 148 gross, Kwame Ligbidi took the fourth position with 149 gross while S.K. Ayornu came fifth with 150 gross.

In the Ladies segment, Mona Captan Myles-Lamptey came first with 178 gross, Jessica Tei took the second position with 179 gross, while Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong placed third with 183 gross, beating Leticia Amponsah-Mensah on count-back.

The Youth encounter saw Richard Bawa winning the trophy with 83 net score, beating David Atila on count-back while Seo Jang Wang placed third with 92 net.

Emos Korblah captured the Professional’s trophy with 279 gross, beating Victor Brave-Mensah on the sudden death while Vincent Torgah came third with 283 gross.

The 'Closest to the Pin' award went to K.A. Ayittey while Vivian Dick won the Ladies segment of the trophy.

The two-day 36-Hole Scratch competition which was opened to amateur and professional golfers from Ghana, Togo and the United Kingdom attracted about 200 participants.
