Chairman of Golden Tulip West Africa Amaechi Ndili has charged golfers to shun politicians who repeatedly refuse to support golf.

He challenged them to break all boundaries and develop the sport to befit their class and status.

Speaking at the Achimota-Ikoyi Annual Match Play over the weekend, he told golfers, “Let’s forget about the politicians, if they wouldn’t do it we shouldn’t wait for them too.

“Let’s do it ourselves, let’s break all the barriers. It is the only way that will ensure that we become an unbeatable side.”

Golf’s virtue of integrity has prompted players of the prestigious sport to call for government support.

Recently, the Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, an avid golfer, urged government to rally behind golf due to the tenets of self discipline and integrity among others, as it has the potential to transform the nation.

Achimota defeated their Nigerian counterparts 76-23 in the shotgun competition last Sunday.
