All set for diplomatic corps golf at Celebrity Golf Club

Preparations have reached roof level for the Dean of Diplomatic Corps invitational golf tournament scheduled for the Celebrity Golf Club, tomorrow Lawyer Francis Akwasi Opoku, captain of the Club has said.

Put together by the Zimbabwean High Commissioner to Ghana Mrs Pavelyn Tenclai Musaka in collaboration with the Sakumonor-based Club, the 18-Hole event seeks to draw Diplomatic Corps in Ghana and golfers closer.

Invited for the anticipated grand tourney are members from the Achimota, Tema, Royal and Takoradi golf Clubs.

Winners in both the male and female categories will have the luxury to fly in business class to Johannesburg on the tickets of South African and Kenya Airways.

The Club captain who is also the Legal Manager, Ghana Cocoa Board indicated that members of the Diplomatic Corps who are not golfers would be introduced to the golfing fraternity and would be taking through some golfing tutorials.

Tafo Golf president, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Joe Ohemeng, ex captain, Celebrity, Josh Peprah, Tema Golf captain, Ofori Atta, ex captain, Royal Golf Club, Francis Quartey, Andy Wilson among others are expected to grace the event.

The ladies would be represented by golfers like Pamela Yeboah, Lady Captain, Celebrity, Esther Antwi, Aku Yaba, Sherry Hammond, Florence Etwi Barimah and others.

Other sponsors are Oak Plaza Hotel, Holiday Inn, Gorjous and supported by the China and Namibia High Commissions in Ghana.
