Amadu Sulley and Afari Gyan must quit now

The New Free Press believes that there can be no serious electoral reform as long as agents of the ruling National Democratic congress are at post, namely the Electoral Commissioner Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan ,Director of operations Dr Amadu Sulley and Christian Parry its Public Relations officer . We call on all political parties and civil society to disregard any calls by Dr Afari Gyan for suggestions and proposal for electoral reform. We call on the IEA to stop being an apologist organisation for the EC and demand the right thing to be done, the resignation of these criminal EC officials. The first proposal that will really make the whole of Ghana happy is for Dr Afari Gyan and Amadu Sulley to face a criminal investigation into their conduct and for the public accounts committee of our august parliament to investigate the way and manner the electoral commission is administered and its procurement procedure. Dr Afari Gyan, has still failed to account for 30 million Ghana cedis of the 50 million Ghana cedis given to him by the previous finance minister ,Dr Kwabena Duffour to procure biometric machines for the last elections. Can he tell Ghanaians why he deposited this money in a bank account Unibank’s main head office at kokomemle and why it was not used for the elections? Dr Amadu Sulley, who decided to become a de facto general secretary for the NDC and actually campaigned for them in the North and Ashanti regions between August 30th to October 2nd, together with Pauline Dzadzawa another corrupt EC commissioner and directed already stamped ballot papers to be sent to Brong Ahafo Region. How can such a person be in office? Is it not the same Amadu Sulley assisting the NDC with their biometric registration membership programme and is he not being paid 250,000 dollars for this project? We dare him to come out and challenge our statement of fact! Which person ,in their right mind would trust criminals and anarchists who nearly brought Ghana to the brink of civil war to be in charge of electoral reforms of the EC, the most corrupt institution in Ghana? The Constitution of Ghana is indeed deeply flawed. it has allowed an institution of state to be more powerful than it. This is a very serious mistake and its time our parliament wakes up to its responsibilities and stop being a goldmine for making money and sitting on committees to rake in extra cash. Election 2016 would be a very difficult election but we can make it work successfully for all of us if all the gangsters and criminals at the Electoral commission are rooted out and that must be the pre occupation of every responsible citizen before we suffer any catastrophe.
