Mr Adofo, the answer to your question is BIG YES. As a fellow NPP member, I feel very sad about the way our leaders are tarnishing the image of the party and Ghana in general.
First, before the Electoral Commissioner declared the 2012 election results and while voting was still going on in some places, our Leaders (Jake and Sir John) held a press conference and illegally declared Nana Addo as winner with about 52%, and told as to go and jubilate. But when Dr Afari Gyan finally declared the results, it took us nearly two weeks to gather evidence to go court. Mr Adofo, my question is, if they did have evidence to declare Nana Addo the winner, why did it took us two weeks to gather evidence? Was the press conference intended to fool us supporters or just to cause chaos in Ghana?
Second, our Leaders told us they have strong evidence that could change the results in our favour. Mr Adofo, what I was expecting as strong evidence was for us to come out with all the 275 constituencies including your hometown Kumawu and my hometown Effiduasi, what NPP and NDC got from the signed sheets at the constituency level and compared with what the EC declared. But what our leaders are calling conclusive evidence to me is hollow and difficult to understand. They are saying, there were about 1.3 Million or so over voting in favour of Mr Mahama. Mr Adofo, be frank with yourself, how are you going to know that the over voting was in favour of Mr Mahama? Did we have different ballot papers for NPP and NDC.
Third, Ghana Constitution make provision that, after election, you can seek redress at the Supreme Court. Mr Adofo, our Leaders has decided to seek redress from the court and the case is still pending. Why again is this unnecessary demonstration and Let My Vote Count demostration, boycotting of Parliamentary proceedings. Today, I read something on Ghanaweb about Kwabena Adjepong that the Vetting Committee is not probing the ministerial appointees enough. Mr Adofo, do you think NDC will probe more about their own members? That is why NPP members should have participated in it not only as opposition but to make sure we have good and competent ministers in Ghana.
Finally, Mr Adofo, we have not abandone Nana Addo but some of us are quiet because what our Leaders are doing was things normally associated with NDC but now they are rather behaving well while our party NPP which we use to say as the best democratic party in Africa is now a laughing stock.
To all true NPP supporters who love Ghana, let us together tell our leaders to let the Lawyers concentrate on the court case(personally do not support the case because of the evidence)but for the good of Mother Ghana, participate in all matters of national interest.
