In as much as we know that death is inevitable, one thing paramount is the fact that you're not going to set eye on that person again in life. When one gets a thumb up for an act, he or she repeats the act or even does better. So it is with glowing tributes for the dead, a belief that it will gladden the soul of the dead person so that he or she can return to life. Glowing tributes for the dead are also a form of self consolation. One can ironically say that, that was the expected life of the dead person too. Whichever way it goes, I think there's a reason.
