The battle for who wins the 2011/2012 Ghana Glo Premier League crown is over as the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ Kumasi Asante Kotoko has taken an elephant lead on the ladder with just six matches to go.

Asante Kotoko broke the jinx that has eluded them for the past seven years at the Baba Yara Stadium as they defeated their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak by 2:1 in a hot afternoon where the red army gave a real good account of themselves with a goal in each half.

The Porcupine Warriors is still at the summit of the table but has increased the distance between them and the second positioned club Ashantigold from ten to twelve maximum points. Kotoko is leading with 52 points whiles their regional counterpart Ashantigold is second with 40 points with hearts on third spot with 39 points.

The darling club of the garden city maintained the history of whoever scores the first goal in a Kotoko/Hearts encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium ultimately carries the day and with a twelve points apart no miracle on this planet can deny the Porcupine Warriors from lifting the ultimate.
