Columnist: The Informer

Commentary: Why Kwesi Pratt Must Shut Up

The Informer being an independent and completely selfless entity with its “Ghana First” motive has been following with interest, the debate devotedly on-going as a result of compensation paid business man Alfred Agbesi Woyome. Here we think people like Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jnr. and others are over-flogging the issue and passing unnecessary judgment without speaking to the substantive matter; and we wonder what has come over people.
We disagree totally with the EOCO with regard to the unprofessional manner in which it has conducted itself so far in its effort to unknot the mystery surrounding the said judgment debt paid to Mr. Woyome, by revealing some confidential information told them by the witness (Woyome) concerning his private security to some political commentators.
In fact, The Informer in no uncertain term condemns this behavior on the part of the EOCO and recommends that they render unqualified apology to Alfred Woyome, for the breach of trust and the rather unfortunate steps they took to freeze his personal account and others that he is a signatory to.
Our reverend position as a media house cannot be questioned based on our track record and we shall always strive for the truth.
In all our publications so far with regards to the judgment debt, the basic question that we have been asking but have still not received a single explanation from “Lawrence Kwaku Addae” Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and his opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) cohorts, as well as certain political commentators like Kwesi Pratt Jnr., who is passing judgment on the matter and calling for the arrest of people. This is very funny.
We all heard it loud and clear; and we mean the President’s directive to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) unless Kwesi Pratt and his paymasters would want us to believe that there is more to what the President instructed the EOCO to do.
To the common knowledge of all and sundry, the President was clear in his directive when he said the EOCO should investigate all judgment debts incurred by the State including that of Mr. Alfred Woyome; but the dramatic twist of event especially on the side of the EOCO is the most unfortunate.
Assuming that the money paid Woyome is improper and hence should be recouped, we are for it since we cannot allow the nation’s scarce resources to go down the drain and that is why we think that persons like Kwesi Pratt are not helping the State in this matter.
The President directed that all judgment debts be looked into, but all attention seem to be on the money paid Woyome, when he never went to Bank of Ghana to steal the money, yet Kwesi Pratt and his political infant gang have decided to pass judgment.
In the first place, what Kwesi Pratt and his paymasters in the NDC who want to see Mr. Alfred Woyome nailed on the across should know is that, the personality under baseless persecution today resort to legal means to get what according to reports, he has gotten; so we expect that if anyone has a problem with the money paid him, that person should equally use the court to challenge the ruling.
We are for Mother Ghana and will not sit with arms fold for people to take possession of the nation’s resources for no work done, but what we are expecting those, including Kwesi Pratt, who is passing judgment on the matter to do, is that, they should go to court to seek explanation or shut up.
In fact, we will ensure that all judgment debts paid illegally are recovered, if the Woyome’s one also prove to be so, but what annoys us is the judgment being passed by someone like Kwesi Pratt because he has become a tool in the hands of people.
The Informer is advising Mr. Kwesi Pratt to be circumspect and speak to the issue constructively or forever shut up. To be honest, we will stop at nothing to deal with him if he continues this way in his bid to please his paymasters, period!!
