Spare A Thought For Haruna Iddrisu, Omane Boamah And Okudzeto Ablakwah!

The Minister of communication Haruna Iddrisu is reported to have
entreated the entire national Democratic Congress members and its
sympathizers to completely ignore the “Machiavellian machinations” being devised by
the former President Rawlings to promote the presidential
ambitions of his wife Nana Konadu at the expenses of the integrity of
President Mills.
Haruna Iddrisu further stated that the last thing the NDC, as a
political party, would attempt to do, was to replace President Mills
with Mrs Rawlings. According to Haruna Iddrisu, Jerry John Rawlings’
constant critique of the Mills’ administration is a grand design to make the
President unpopular.

Who the heck is this incorrigible arm-chair critic? Whose interest is
he serving besides his own in his campaign of reckless villfication
against the Rawlingses?

I have watched in silence for far too long the insolence and temerity
with which the likes of Haruna Iddrisu, Okudzeto Ablabkwa and Omane
Boamah sought to play their politics in the this country. Their
insolence have been allowed the room to fester in our politicking that,
it is spreading dangerously like a cancer and leaving a legacy of which
posterity would not like to remember.

I fail to see what the Rawlingses has done wrong by simply offering
constructive critique of the Mills administration. Is there anyone among us who does
not express his/her views for or against an action or the
other? Why do we want Rawlings to be different? Should he not hold an
opinion? Should he not share it?
And for inexperienced chaps like Omane Boamah, Okudzeto Ablakwah and
Haruna Iddrisu to cast aspersion at the former President is very
reprehensible and offensive to say the least.
Is it the case that these guys are enjoying the trappings of power and
as such no longer appreciate where they are coming from?
I forcefully oppose Haruna’s call. I am unnerved by his outburst, and
his unguarded comment.
These guys never cease to amaze me. Haruna Iddrisu even has the
effrontery to tell Ghanaians to disregard the former President Rawlings. Where do
some people get off?

If there is anybody who benefited greatly from the Rawlingses, it is
this reprobate called Haruna Iddrisu. Without the Rawlingses you would
have been nobody. He sacrifices his whole life for you to become a
minister. A mere tramp like Haruna Iddrisu can now insult and slight the Rawlingses.

One thing that this highly corrupted Minister does not know and it
surprises me is the fact that, the Rawlingses made it possible for
somebody like him to become who he is today.

What happened to all the Vodafone noises you made whilst in opposition?
What has come of it? And when Rawlings complains that Mills is slow in
administering the change Ghanaians voted for, you show gross disrespect
and ineptitude by asking people to disregard him. Disregard him for you
to continue boot-licking, treachery, and amassing wealth at the expenses of the
ordinary Ghanaians?

Is Haruna Iddrisu and his ilks aware of the principles that gave birth
to the NDC? Those who think they can alienate Jerry John Rawlings are
actually underestimating the relevance of Rawlings factor in
contemporary Ghanaian politics. Those who think that, they can inhibit
Jerry Rawlings’ right to free speech must think again. And those who
find excuses to malign the former President are themselves a product of
irresponsibility.
If the likes of Haruna Iddrissus, Omane Boamahs and Ablakwas have
listened to Jerry John Rawlings and today they are ministers, what makes them think
that others will not listen to him?
Harruna and friends, save your admonishing to your kids. We can discern
rhetoric from fact.

What true, and civilized, democracy would allow a political figure to
pass such a loutish comment against its former leader without dispensing some form
of consequence? If the nation's political leadership would
allow the likes of Harunas, Ablakwas and Omane Boamahs, to speak with
such a discourtesy, and get away with it, what moral obligation do they
have to guiding our young children from using snide language against
noble citizens?
Civilized democracies thrive on the display of wit to outwit one’s
opponents and not character assassination and campaign of vilification.
Let’s accord our presidents, past and present the respect they deserve,
even if we disagree with their opinions and vision for party and the
nation. Take it, or leave it, Mr. Jeremiah Rawlings is indispensable in
the politics of NDC’.
