The God of Basoah versus the God of Mahama

The God of Kofi Basoah versus the God of John Mahama – Election 2012 ? Let us all wait and see how the Supreme Court verdict on presidential Election 2012 turns out now that all the cross-examinations of the Witnesses-in-Chief for both the petitioners and the respondents have come to an end on Wednesday, 17 July 2013.

? The NPP leadership alleged that Election 2012 was inundated with irregularities, omissions and malpractices that they hoped impacted negatively on the election results and the final declaration of the winner by the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari Ghana. When they sought audience with Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, to clarify the situation, he said, "Go to court, go to court, if you have doubts about the results. I shall declare the winner subsequent upon the results the Electoral Commission has collated".

? About two weeks to the Election Day in December 2013, one Kofi Basoah, a man in his mid-thirties, resident in Asante-Juaben had a dream. In his dream, he saw a multitude of NPP members and sympathisers and a comparatively fewer number of NDC people among them. The election 2012 results were declared and the NDC people were in complete jubilation while the NPP folks were quiet and saddened. ?

However, Kofi Basoah says ever since he was born, his dreams have come to pass exactly as dreamt. He told me the NPP would win the election. I challenged the logic in his conclusion on the note of his aforementioned declaration that his dreams manifest exactly as seen in the dream. Were not those belonging in the NDC seen to be joyous, why then was he in another breath saying the NPP would win the election?

? Dad, he said, "My eyes opened, that is, I woke up immediately after the dream. I went back to sleep again. In my sleep, I heard a voice saying, the NPP must be RESOLUTE, the NPP must be RESOLUTE, the NPP must be RESOLUTE, they won the election but have been robbed". He said, he never understood the word RESOLUTE so he woke up and reached for his dictionary. Before he could continue, I told him Resolute means being FIRM. He said, Dad, that is true. When I looked up the meaning of the word, it meant remaining firm. So by NPP remaining firm as the voice directed, they would win the election in the end.

I made this known to many people including one "Joe Diggie" days before the election was held. Lo and behold, the election was held, the results were declared and the NPP felt they have been robbed. It has been to court and the truth has been unfolding in line with the revelations to Kofi Basoah. Kofi Basoah believes the voice to ask the NPP to remain RESOLUTE was the voice of GOD through one of His many trusted angels.

? One can conclude from the developments in the Supreme Court that deliberate committals of electoral malpractices and irregularities constituting statutory violations did actually take place as alleged by the NPP. Did the committed irregularities, omissions and malpractices not help rig the election in favour of the NDC, especially, their presidential candidate? Did it not go to rob the NPP of the winning vote as revealed to Kofi Basoah?

? Now, we have President Mahama going about saying God has ordained him the President of Ghana. He says the election was free, fair and transparent and that he won it cleanly, fairly and transparently as wished by God.

? I am a bit baffled by the assertions being made by President Mahama. Did statutory violations not occur to favour him as established at the cross-examinations of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan?

? Anyway, I do not want to pre-empt the verdict the Supreme Court will deliver on the case. However, discerning Ghanaians and the world will be the best judges if and only if, they had time to watch the Court proceedings/hearings live on television and online or listened to it live on radio.

? Kofi Basoah believes the revelations to him in a dream which are contrary to the assertions by John Mahama are from God. Mahama on the other hand believes God has ordained him the President of Ghana. Did he receive any revelations or had a special encounter of some sort with God? I cannot tell and he has not made that clear to anyone just that God has ordained him the President of Ghana.

? Which God, are both mentioned persons (Kofi Basoah and John Mahama) talking about? We live to see which of the two Gods is telling the truth. All that I know is that there is only one God, the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God. Nevertheless, there are numerous lesser gods – the deities.

? Between the God of Kofi Basoah and that of John Mahama, Ghanaians will soon tell if the revelations to Kofi Basoah are the truth or the assertions by John Mahama. Will God choose a clueless, corrupt and hypocritically selective person of the mentality of "Me be dii bi keke" of the "Ede bii keke" infamy to rule Ghana to bring untold hardships on the people? We live to see!

? I dedicate this article to Kofi Basoah, Kwaku Burger and the entire inhabitants of Asante-Juaben. I shall be in the studio of Source radio UK on Sunday, 21 July 2013 afternoon to be a co-panellist on a special political programme. Tune in to Source radio to listen to Rockson Adofo, that overflowing fountain of wisdom from Kumawu/Asiampa.
