Kumawu "Kontirehene" Disappoints ...

... the Masses but Satisfies the Queen, Just for "Perks"

"Enye obi na okum Antwi, Boasiako na ode nitire egye akyerema", literally translated as, "nobody murdered Antwi, he (Boasiako as his nickname) offered himself as a sacrificial lamb"

My eyes well up in tears when I hear that the Kumawu Kontirehene, an outwardly seemingly young energetic, knowledgeable and flamboyant man, has succumbed to the baiting spell of the Kumawu queen. A man who not long ago professed to be proactive, had aversion for greed, detested the mismanagement of resources by the Kumawu Traditional Council chaired by the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, the paramount chief, has now tucked his tail between his legs and runs off at sighting such noble principles. It is alleged he has simply become a stooge, same as a puppet monkey chained at the waist, dancing to the pleasure tune of his master, in this case, the queen, who is manipulating him in her devious quest to satisfying her voracious appetite for power, fame and wealth. Has Kontirehene become like a dog that feeds on its own vomit? Was he not the same person who a few months ago was sparking off signs of disagreement with corruption, the ruinous reign of the traditional council? What has then changed him overnight to become what he is now, following the whistling and the cracking of fingers of the queen, blindly? Has he been bewitched by the control freak? Sadly enough, he has shot himself in the foot by swimming upstream against the tide, that is, against the yelling of the suffering masses for a change for the better. There is always a room for accommodation if he would realise his mistake made, backtrack, and then join hands with the popular outcry of the masses for a selfless, diligent and dynamic person to be crowned as the next Kumawuhene but not the nobodies as is of the resolute opinion and determination of the queen, for reasons best known only to herself.

The earlier the Kumawu chieftaincy issue is resolved, the much better. As it is a proven fact that "justice delayed is justice denied", so also will the chieftaincy issue culminate in rancour with the attendant evil scheming should those in authority to let things happen drag their feet like slugs. I have a premonition that some people will try to harm the God's designated heir apparent. Anyone of such acrimonious evil intentions will fail, but also face the God's wrath. I wonder how some people by their warped figment of imagination consider themselves born to reign, prepared to carry out whatever it takes to rule regardless of their undesirability. It just beats my gumption. Can anyone help to explain why? I wonder how some people can be so thick to believe that they can commit crime with impunity, under the cover of darkness, being smiley on the face while abusively mischievous behind your back. Some of the contesting royals and the queen after hurtling down to numerous oracles both in Ghana and India as alleged were starkly made aware their turn to the throne is not yet. However, some of these intransigents do believe that resort to spiritual malevolence will do the trick for them. As plain word is jovially said not to be a cheat, the evil machinations of anyone partaking this line of action will not stick as the God's chosen one is under His protective mighty arm.

The seventeen years of subjection to insults, utter display of pomposity and total disrespect for her subjects, the queen may be right to some extent when treating her subjects for imbeciles. How dare some Divisional chiefs including the "Kontirehene" allow themselves to be bought over with pieces of cloths or clothing? By selling their conscience for pittance, who then should bear the can? Who suffers as a result of this melancholic behaviour of those entrusted with power but miserably chosen to be lazy and corrupt, easily influenced with "perks"? The unfortunate poor masses do. My heart is bleeding for them. Having self-nominated to be their spokesperson, I shall not hesitate to continue to battle them in all nooks and corners until they have refrained from their atypical Ghanaian-mindedness where one is easily influenced with gifts.

The queen should note that there are a few intelligent, knowledgeable, wise and honest persons out there who can neither be purchased with money, nor cloths though they may be poor. This is what we call self respect. They will battle her inch by inch and foot by foot until she quits her nefarious activities, snobbishness, to seek help in ethical training which she was denied at her "teacher training course" many years back. Money will not acquire her happiness and the craved authority she does madly need to oppress her subjects.

My calling by God is done. I have finished my job and waiting patiently for the God's anointed to be crowned the chief of Kumawuman. I am recoiling into my shell to hibernate, recharge my batteries as they are near-flattened. May the good memories of me stay with you, my beloved Kumawuman people. I have taken this unique step to help you release yourselves from the mental and physical slavery, a bondage you have been brought into by the dismal reign of the very royals in whom you entrusted your hope. I might have inadvertently stood on some toes in my bulldozing but earnest and intelligent discourse to sound a wake up call and warning to Kumawuman. Anyone who may feel offended may forgive me though; I may not hesitate to reengage when the going gets tough. May the All Mighty and the Most Wonderful God be with you now and forever more. Amen
