Is Asantehene Once Again Influencing Judges to Twist Justice?

From a reliable source, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has once again engaged in nefarious activities to pervert the course of justice. He has initiated similar moves as done in the case of Election 2012 petition, where he allegedly acted as the main conduit to bribe some Supreme Court judges to declare a favourable verdict in favour of his friend who otherwise would have lost the case as all evidence pointed to.

This person who is informing on the latest moves by Asantehene is nobody other than one Mr Akosah. He is the immediate elder brother to Dr Yaw Sarfo, the person Asantehene with his elders are conniving to impose on Kumawu as the replacement paramount chief for the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, the Omanhene of Kumawu.

Mr Akosah is currently resident in London in the United Kingdom. He says Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is in contact with the High Court judge who will determine the tenability of the injunction placed on the installation of Kumawuhene pending investigations into some bribery allegations. He goes on to say that his younger brother, Yaw Sarfo, will be enthroned the paramount chief of Kumawu within hours of same day that the judge will throw out the case for being untenable.

Whatever Mr Akosah says about Kumawu chieftaincy case with regard to his brother ascending the throne must be taken seriously. It must not be blown away with a whiff. He said in Deccember 2013 that Asantehene would declare a verdict in favour of his brother to be enthroned the chief of Kumawu on 24 February 2014. Truly, Asantehene disregarded all pending invocations of Asantehene Great Oath on Kumawuhemaa barring her from proceeding to impose Yaw Sarfo on Kumawuman as paramount chief, to order Kumawu kingmakers to swear him in as Kumawuhene.

It was only by God’s intervention that his complicitous intentions were not realised on that day. Subsequently, an injunction was sought to delay the enthronement of whomever until allegations of bribery involving the installation were investigated.

Kumawuhemaa stood in front of Asanteman chiefs at Asanteman Council where there was a total of about one thousand people to declare that she had bribed Kumawu Kontrihene (GHC15,000), Akwamuhene (GHC10,000), Nifahene(Bodomasehene – GHC10,000) and given GHC10, 000 to them to share among the other Kumawu sub-chiefs. She had also in agreement with Kontrihene to debar the Ananangya and Odumase royals from the house of Kontrihene on 9 December 2013 when she had intended to enthrone Yaw Sarfo, put a new entrance gate in Kontrihene’s house. Also, the three mentioned kingmakers had agreed to charge her GHC50, 000 (500 Million Old Cedis) once they help her enthrone Yaw Sarfo.

Asantehene still feels all the above with his nonsensical tactics are not worth investigating by the Court. Kumawu case will be his nemesis, I sure hope.

Do we disregard any new information Mr Akosah boastfully conveys to the public domain knowing that he has access to top secret dealings regarding the Kumawu chieftaincy issue? No! Additionally, he says the proprietor of Milkin Hotel in Kumasi is his brother’s best friend. The owner of the Hotel is sponsoring his brother to become the chief of Kumawu. He has agreed to pay whatever money needed for whatever reason, for his brother, Yaw Sarfo, to become the paramount chief of Kumawu. This is on condition that his brother pays him back the money with interest and a chunk of Kumawuman’s money sitting in an account with the Bank of Ghana. He has been reassured by the printout or Statement of account issued by Bank of Ghana (BoG) to Kumawuhemaa indicating how much money Kumawuman has. With this, he is prepared to lend Yaw Sarfo and Kumawuhemaa any amount of money they may need for whatever purpose (bribe, etc.).

From this same Mr Akosah, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has agreed to take one-half of the total Kumawuman money with the Bank of Ghana if he succeeds with installing Yaw Sarfo, Kumawuhemaa’s sole candidate, the paramount chief of Kumawu.

No wonder Asantehene is bulldozing his way through with utter disregard for truth, tradition and custom to ensure he installs Yaw Sarfo the paramount chief. He stands to profit enormously. He stands to earn without wiping any sweat an amount within the region of US$50 Million, far outweighing Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s.

Yes, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has come out to say he has developed tough skin. This means, he does not care about whatever anyone says about his personality. He will continue to be his own man, wallowing in his charlatanry as long as his actions yield him quick buck.

However, let me state it clearly to him that he has not the absolute traditional right to choose Kumawuhene. Kumawu is not his backyard where he can proceed to defecate after suffering diarrhoea. Does he take the people of Kumawuman for fools that he can easily inflict his venomous swindling on?

Again, Kumawuhemaa and Yaw Sarfo have agreed to sign the papers covering the one million (1,000,000) acres of Kumawuman lands in the Afram Plains that he, Asantehene, has dubiously sold to some Danish Company. Without the signature of Kumawu paramount chief, the Whites who purchased the land cannot work on it. How can Asantehene sell the land behind the back of Kumawuman people? Has he forgotten what was said and certified by the then chiefs during the Asante Confederacy meeting of 1935? Does he want me to remind him? He has no right over Kumawuman lands, period.

To the current Asantehene, to hell with "Good name is better than riches"

For your information, granting Court injunction is always at the discretion of the presiding judge. No matter the gravity of the case requiring that an injunction is placed pending proper investigations and hearing, the judge can decide however he likes. This is probably why Asantehene is alleged to be inducing the judge with money and promises to throw out the case. We shall see what happens on 4 April 2014. Once the judge throws out the case as may be agreed with Asantehene, Yaw Sarfo will be sworn in the chief of Kumawu on same day, according as revealed by his elder brother, Mr Akosah.

Do not blame Mr Akosah for letting the cat out of the bag. He is neither being mischievous nor stupid. It is the joy of his younger brother soon becoming Kumawuhene despite being "Obo3fa DadeEfa" that is making him reveal things in advance.

Kumawuman citizens are you going to sit on your backside doing nothing while this crook calling himself Asantehene continues to take you for fools. You suffer from periodic outbreaks of cholera and typhoid fever diseases due to lack of chemically-treated drinking water and unsanitary environment you live in. You have no public toilets and no jobs for the youth yet, Kumawuhemaa is willing to cede with about US$50 Million to Asantehene alone. How much will go to the owner of Milkin Hotel and other persons to whom she has pledged money.

There will be nothing left to develop Kumawuman with. May the generational curse of God come upon whoever for the sake of exploiting Kumawuman will be twisting history and abusing the powers and authorities vested in him?
