I support Akufo-Addo – Barima Sidney

Barima Sidney who was explaining the controversy surrounding GTV’s refusal to air two of his latest videos says he supports the candidature of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo but not a member or an associate of the NPP.

Speaking on Luv FM’s Private Party with Austine, he said his style is unique and that he is just a political musician; one who does music about issues of currency in the nation.

Sidney revealed that his current songs are not for any political party even though he has made campaign jingles for the opposition NPP and the new political firebrand, NDP.

On whether his latest singles are anti-NDC, he responded in the negative but revealed that “the NDC wanted to use ‘Ghana Money’ for their campaign in the previous election but I declined their offer”.

Sidney says he is not making controversial songs because he can’t beat the creative competition from Sarkodie and the new breed of musicians, but because that is just what he does.

“What I do is unique. I’m not competing with Sarkodie and co because I started doing this way back before they got into the game. Go to Cote D’Ivoire and the Francophone countries and see how far I’m taking Ghana”.
