All 4 Real kicked for real? Submitted on 2009-01-05 05:22:33 (modified 2009-01-05 05:38:47)
Ofori Amponsah, one of Ghana’s leading contemporary highlife musicians, received a terrible Christmas blow last December when his management team declared that they were no longer interested in working with the artiste. Apparently Mr All for Real had made it increasingly difficult for the team to manage him in the past year.
The management team which made its decision a week before December 24 has already sent a formal letter to Ofori Amponsah to that effect. Read More
Sylvia, one of the Brong Ahafo reps to Mentor 4 became the third evictee last night. It was all an all-girls bottom three last night and instead of the judges voting to save only one, the producers decided that as a New Year treat, and only one out of the bottom three would be eliminated on the night. The judges then decided to leave it to the audience to cheer decide who goes home. Unfortunately, Sylvia didn’t receive enough cheers and was given the boot.
The general performance on the night of Burger Highlife was average as the contestants tried to relive the music of the 1970s and 80s. It was a refreshing journey back into the era of golden hits from the likes of Ben Brako, George Darko, Bessa Simmons, Daddy Lumba, Lee Duodo and several others.

We won't let the elections hold us back Submitted on 2009-01-03 05:31:36 (modified 2009-01-03 05:34:36)
It is a general fact that the 2008 December general elections put a huge damper on Christmas and New year celebrations. The run-off elections and the seeming uncertainties surrounding it made the streets, beaches, pubs and other recreational centres unusually empty during the the holidays as compared to previous years. However, some individual hope to catch a little fun today in the spirit of the holiday season. De Temple Social Centre will this afternoon organise a pool party scheduled to take place at its poolside from 10 am. The event, dubbed “Afternoon Pool Side Party” is expected to attract over a thousand music fans including students from the various tertiary institutions in the country. The event would witness performances by selected musicians. On the guest list are well-known television and radio stars as well as music celebrities.Read More

Christmas this year certain brought love, joy and happiness the way of Ghanaian model, Mirash Davis, as she got engaged to her Swedish partner during the festive season.
The beautiful 5.11ft 1st runner-up at the 2006 Nokia Face of Africa finals got “hitched” on the 27th of December 2008 and came home to Ghana to get engaged to Fredrik. Looking gorgeous as usual, Mirash hosted a reception held at the Green Flaiva Restaurant in Tema for friends and family.
Since the competition in 2006, Mirash has been working steadily for several modelling agencies in Johannesburg and Cape Town; O Models, Shine Models and Confidence models and has become one of the favourites in the South African modelling industry, not only because of her looks, but because of her determination and professionalism.
Mirash had said that even if she did not win the title she would still pursue a successful modelling career and she has. Hopefully her marriage will be even more successful than her career.

Although many of us are of the general view that this year's Christmas season had been overshadowed by the general elections, many Ghanaians still managed to catch some fun across the country from the 24th of December through to the weekend. Among the impressive highlights were the Cit FM event, 'December to Remeber'; the Kojo Antwi Concert, the Ofori Amponsah and Lumba 'United for Peace' concert; Temafest among many others. Here are some highlights from some of these events:
