Lifestyle: Laziness is what is killing the youth of today - Counselor Adofoli

It is surprising to know that many people are the authors of their bad relationship or marriages just because of laziness. They want everything so quick and easy and refuse to change their stories.

In this modern world, there are so many resources available for anyone to make it. Technology is here to make things easy and simple for us, but sadly people still misuse all these.

It is a curse for a young woman of this age not to know how to cook, when there is something called YouTube.

People are divorcing today because they couldn't find solutions to the problems in their marriages. But interestingly the solution they sought was presented to them on their wedding day, it was in the form of a book but none made time to read because of laziness.

There are people in bad relationships today. All the answers they needed were forwarded to them via WhatsApp chat but they refused to read with an excuse of it being a long post. Others are looking for the right information so that they don't make mistakes in the future, and they have liked pages but won't take the pain to read posts from these pages from beginning to the end.

People are displaying lots of ignorance today because they rely on the title of stories from websites but have refused to read the full content, not to talk of those killing themselves because they refused to read the prescription of the drug, food and drink they bought.

Young people are the ones dying today and it's alarming to know that most of these deaths are caused by laziness.

Recently, I decided to test a number of people who messaged me on WhatsApp for my daily motivational message. I was amazed at the replies I got. In the text I sent them, I greeted, then I mentioned my name and stated what I do.

The funny part is, about half of these people replied my message to ask for my name. If they had read the message, why will they ask for the same thing sent to them?

Good life comes with work, there is no harvest if one cannot endure the painful season of sowing, there is no flying colours if one cannot stay awake and burn the mid night candle. There is no wine if grapes are not pressed, there won't be perfume if flowers are not crushed. Fear has no business with success.

If you want to be the best in anything, you have to challenge yourself. Every success has a price to pay. Every next level of your life requires an upgraded version of you.

You are like a raw material; to become the product you want, you need to work on yourself. Some of these works require training, reading, learning, etc.

You are a magnet, to attract what you want, you need a force. That doesn't happen at your comfort zone, you need to make a move. You can't attract wealth by being idle. You can't attract good health without taking good care of yourself. You can't attract love without sacrificing. You can't attract a good spouse by being lazy single.

In conclusion "Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and never succeed" - Proverbs 12:24 (TLB).
