Samini’s Iskoki song, who is it aimed at?

Clearly High Grade Family head, Emmanuel Andrews Samini is not ready to exit the dancehall/ hiplife scene just yet as exemplified by his staying power and recently released Iskoki video.

The song appears to take aim at fake mallams (Islamic scholars in Africa) who abuse their privilege in society but a good number of folks who have listened to the tune and watched the video vow its aimed at Shatta Wale the dancehall artiste.

The video produced by the High Grade Family and directed by Prince Dovlo has some exciting scenes but also lets down the viewer in certain regards.

One gets the feeling that the scenes involving the fake mallam-Bismark de Joke were done in haste without proper attention as his shots are foggy and lack the crispness that other scenes have.

Samini’s hair style is an interesting one, the crowd rallies nicely with attractive acrobatic moves although the plump kid in blue shorts certainly charms with his moves.

Although the lyrics in the song sort of explains the fake mallam scenes, not all Muslims would be enthused by the thieving scenes but Iskoki is warming up as one of the party tunes for the Xmas.

With Shatta’s perceived act of reconciliation at the ‘S concert’ not bought by Samini and his crew. These words remain incisive:

“Fake mallam no fit to lie we cos almighty no deny we, so we tell Babylon no try we. God bless, everything we do we put God first, Satan dema worship, they Godless so we kill them inna every aspect. Last time I checked we still run this”.
