Akoo Nana, DKB exchange words over songs

The misunderstanding between comedian DKB and Akoo Nana over the hiplife artiste’s new freestyle 'Yawa' will not be ending anytime soon as both keep throwing jabs at each other.

Akoo Nana over the weekend on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra dared DKB, who had threatened to sue him to go ahead with his legal proceedings for he is ever ready to meet him in court.

The rapper accused the former Big Brother Africa representative of collapsing his business. To him, he 'dissed' him in his latest freestyle due to DKB’s plot to destroy his career.

According to Akoo Nana, DKB has been talking bad about him to his business partners which has negatively affected his business relationships. Revealing that most of his business contracts have been terminated due to reasons known to only DKB and his business partners.

The angry rapper told Doctar Cann, host of the show that DKB’s girlfriend sent him a text late at night last year, “she doesn’t want an ugly guy with scare face but cute as me. I called the number, and a guy answered and said he is DKB. I called again, and the same person picked, so I waited till the following day when the lady called to tell me that he used DKB’s phone to send that text.

I decided to use that in my song because of what that guy has been doing to me. This thing has been there for long. My business partners terminate my contract because DKB calls them to tell them negative things about me,” Akoo Nana lamented.

He further stated that DKB wants to ride on his fame to stardom, “I’m popular than DKB. Who is DKB? Nobody knows him. He should not use this platform to get fame. If he wants to be famous, he should get a nice platform but not through me.”

When asked why he mentioned DSP Kofi Sarpong’s name, he answered, “I’m not talking about that because I have not heard my senior brother talk about it. I will reply him if I hear that he has talked about it. I’m talking about DKB because I’ve heard him talk.”



When DKB was contacted on the show to respond to the allegations raised against him, he said his lawyers are working around the clock to sue the rapper for defaming his brand.

“I’m not riding on Akoo Nana’s fame besides I’ve my own, and I’m handling and enjoying it. I didn’t get it off anybody’s shoulder. Again, my ex-girlfriend knows him from nowhere. I don’t even think she has any idea of where he (Akoo Nana) stays.

Akoo Nana is lying. This is not a joke so in such situations; you don’t handle it as a citizen, you need to put it before the court and let the legal team hear it and also deal with it."

“So for now, I will put it in the hands of the right people and then he will prove it in the presence of the magistrate my girlfriend’s phone number, the text messages and the time he received it so don’t worry," he indicated.

DKB also described Akoo Nana as a liar and an opportunist who wants to gain fame through his success as a comedian, "as far as I know, he is a liar and he wants to ride on my fame because now I’m the top comedian in the country and he wants to associate with me which is very wrong.”
