Not until Ghana weans herself of stale Azonto tunes, music industry will continue to hang in doldrum. Ghana introduced what is known as Azonto Dance to the world and it came along with a tune and a unique dancing steps which was accepted worldwide. Today the rest of the world have moved on in other musical directions; others elsewhere have even won awards on Azonto they did not create, yet Ghana continues to hang on Azonto tune and music years after its introduction.
Ghanaians in all things are very slow in adopting some new and are even slower in discarding it when others are moving in other directions. Lately every new Ghanaian artist is doing Dancehall music just because Kaaki had made a hit out of a single released last year, today the craze is to do dancehall and its catching on like wildfire. Under such a weak intellectual musical talents, how do we expect Ghanaian music to be taken seriously accross the boundaries of Ghana. Apart from Highlife music which remains the undisputed Ghanaian original tunes, any other type of music is heavily copied by Ghanaian musicians. Ghanaians are known for their perfections in copying other peoples musical styles and are even praised for doing so well to sound close to the original owner of the tune; how can Ghana music move forward under such copy copy works.
Listen to the Ghanaian music today and you'll have no doubt they are inspired by Nigerian style in tunes and lyrics, some even do it with a Yoruba language mix. The rest of Africa particularly South and East are unable to identify which music comes from where especially those coming from West Africa, therefore all music from the west are from Nigeria all because the Ghanaian music is overduplicating the works of Nigerian artists; so this is the extent to which copy copy attitude has destroyed the Ghanaian music hense the lack of recognition accross the Ghanaian territories.

...and Radio, you people will never resolve your problems in life, if you too timid and scared to mention the obvious. This Twi Cancer has ruined every good thing we once had in Ghana. Radio, TV, Movies and of course our beautiful Highlife Music. It is so sickening to recognize how the youth of this country have become more antagonistic towards each other ethnically than their parents of Nkrumahs time. There were all types of good music and instruments playing, even brass band was delightful. Same with Religion, these Akan Pastors have bastardized religion, and now God seems like a bandit or gangster. Blame it on TWI. PERIOD!

This C-Real is funny. If Ghanaian rappers aspire to be like Jay Z, why then can't they aspire to be better than him and Eminem? Appietu is right on target.
