I am taking Azonto into the Big Brother House – DJ Champagne

Africa should be ready for a whole new experience as YFM’s DJ Champagne takes the final week-end of the Big Brother Show by storm.

According to the YFM Dryve Of Ur Life DJ, he is ready to do something that all other DJs who have visited the house have never done on Saturday, August 4.

As a top Ghanaian DJ, one will expect nothing less than a bit of “Azonto” music included in his playlist for the final six house mates.

Speaking to stand-in host, Fati Shaibu on e.tv Ghana’s flagship programme, Awake, on Friday, he indicated that the Ghanaian trademark dance, “Azonto” will definitely affect his choice of songs for the house mates.

“Azonto came into existence and the hype for Azonto was expected in the Big Brother House. So far Keitta (Ghana’s representative in the house until last week) has been teaching them some moves but the real music that the mates expect has not been experienced yet,” he said

“This is because no Ghanaian DJ has had the chance to be there so it is time for me to go and showcase what Ghana has,” he continued.

He, however, indicated that though he will showcase Ghanaian music in South Africa, “I will still be blending because this is the last party and they need to dance.”

“I am going all out just to make sure they have a good time and dance to my music.”

When pushed further to tell Ghanaians what particular songs he will play for the house mates and Africa, DJ Champagne with a grin said, “My selection? Just talk of all the best ‘Gh music’ you can think of; the danceable DJ music, that is what I intend to do. God willing I will do my best and I hope to keep them on the (dancing) floor.”

Another DJ from YFM and host of e.tv Ghana’s Airtel Magic Moments, DJ Kess was in the Big Brother House to play similar role in the 2011 edition of the programme.

DJ Champagne mentions that he has no idea as to how he was chosen amongst all the top DJs in Africa for the final week-end of the programme.

“I have no idea as to how I got chosen but some of the DJs at YFM have been there before and I believe this is the time to showcase what I am also capable of doing.”

“The experience will be different. The way I play on radio and whatever I do before leaving when I return is going to be a different thing all together. I will add something different to my style when I come back,” he indicated.

DJ Champagne will also be on stage at the Big Brother Finale show the following day, August 5.

Apart from “Dryve of ur Lyfe”, the multitalented DJ also plays on YFM’s hugely popular Saturday afternoon student related program, “Y – Xpress”.***
