Vlisco celebrates heroic Fathers with fashion show

Vlisco, a leading brand in the Ghanaian fashion and textiles industry has organized a fashion show to celebrate fathers and encourage potential ones yesterday, 17th June at its Accra Mall shop.

The brand believes fathers play a significant role in building homes, raising children and shaping the future of nations hence the need to recognize and celebrate these special pillars on Father's Days.

The night was filled with great entertainment, fashion show by high profiled Ghanaian designers: Royal Dennis and Samsons Creations displayed some their outstanding collections to the gathering. The event which was moderated by Starr FM’s Drive Time host Geovanni also had poetry recital from renowned spoken word artist Nana Asaase.

Marketing Director, Vlisco Ghana, Rev Stephen Badu in his address stated that Vlisco is banking on this opportunity to appreciate fathers especially those who sacrifice for their families and the motherland at large. He also mentioned that the Vlisco is widely known as a feminine and Father’s Day is an opportune time to introduce the brand to men and wives of great fathers.

Rev. Badu added that for several decades Vlisco has maintained a strong market position, unique designs and has remain soffiscated over the years and it is that which sets the brand apart from its competition.

Also he listed counterfeit designs as the biggest challenge the textile industry is facing and stated that though the task to combat this challenge has not yet been successful, they will however not give up the fight.

Since 1846 Vlisco has been creating unique textiles in Holland that have influenced the fashion landscape in west and central Africa. Till date Vlisco remains the only brand manufacturing genuine Dutch wax fabrics.
