Tony Dee?s Borborbor Music Rock The US

His name may not be familiar to many music lovers outside the Volta Region but Tony Dee is a very popular name on the Volta Star FM and some radio stations in the Republic of Togo. His popularity?s gradually growing at some Accra radio stations due to his style and brand of music.

Tony Dee, currently on cultural camp exchange programme in US, grabbed the opportunity to do what he does best - mount the stage and entertain the crowd with his brand of music, Borborbor.

The Ho-based entertainer and designer first rocked the Camp Highrock dance hall in Massachusetts and went on to blast the Horizon Night Club in Connecticut before shifting to storm the YMCA hall in New York.

In a telephone interview with the Showbiz, elated Tony said ?the shows were marvellous, you should have been here to witness it all. These people have had too much of rap stuff and want something different with a nice modern blend which I give them so they want more.?

Asked whether he had enough in his repertoire to entertain his fans, Tony said ,?Yes I have five albums so far and I have a variety of songs to dish out depending on the age group of the crowd?.

Tony who is currently working on a new album for the US market, says he will be back home soon to complete work on his latest album. Before launching his musical career, Tony had worked in a number of Nigerian recording studios and with Nigerian musicians like Majek Fashek.

That experience influenced the production of his first album Think A Little, which was a reggae album and which also did well to launch his musical career.
