Rap Lecturer To Hit Hiplife Scene

Since the introduction of hiplife (a blend of highlife and hiphop) on to the Ghanaian music scene barely a decade ago, lots of hitherto unknown young men and women have bounced into stardom and are presently making it big.

This endless list of prolific hiplifers most of whom started rapping way back in school include Tic Tac, Nana Quame, Obour, Obour, Kokovelli, Mad Fish, Okomfo Kwaadee, Castro, Abrewanana, Mzbel, Kontihene, 4x4, VIP and many others.

From what started as a mere rap show to entertain school-mates and friends, these young men and women are now swimming comfortably in fame, popularity and of course financial rewards. To follow the footsteps of his predecessors, a young student, Andrews Larkai a.k.a Papa Distic, of Kinbu Secondary Technical has started doing serious hiplife music and anybody who has had the opportunity to see or hear him perform can safely say that he is a guy to be looked out for in the near future.

So far Papa Distic, known to his colleagues as the Rap lecturer, who has performed at various inter-schools competition and other functions, is looking for a producer to come out with his debut album.
