Prisons Officer Arrested

A Prisons Officer, Ernest Obese Ntow has been arrested after 40 wrappers of a substance suspected to be Indian Hemp were found concealed in his boots. Mr Ntow who works at the James Fort Male Prison in Accra has been handed over to the police for immediate prosecution. The hemp was discovered in his boots during a routine search conducted on shift officers.

It comes only a day after the Director General of Prisons, Richard Kuuire warned that he will eliminate criminals among the prisons staff. A statement issued by the Prisons service said "the Director-General wishes to reiterate his determination to get rid of all bad nuts and criminals among staff."
