Nii Funny hits on organisers of Ghana Meets Naija over kids performing

Well it seems after the wonderful organization and creativity put up by the organizers of Ghana Meets Naija, Empire has some small downs.

Ghanaian musician Ishmael Nii Ardey aka Nii Funny has expressed his feelings about the organizers not allowing his child performer (Dancer) perform with him on stage at the 6th Edition of the Ghana Meets Naija and same organizers have allowed Talented Kids Champion DJ Switch perform yesterday at the Ghana Meets Naija concert.

Nii Funny took to his Facebook post saying;

"Last Year I Performed @ Ghana Meet Niger But Unfortunately They Did Not Allow My Dancer Emelia Cudjoe Of Tv3 Talented Kids Fame To Perform, Because The Organisers Of The Event Claim Kids Are Not Allow To Perform On Any Stage In Ghana After 6pm Can Someone Give Me The Specific Time Dj Switch Performed Yesterday On This Same Ghana Meet Niger.Hmmmm If I Talk P3 Them Go Talk Say Ga Boys Not Dey Respect." He said.

"Last year, organisers of Ghana Meets Naija gave me the opportunity to be on the show. It was a free performance but I'm grateful for it.

The organisers and my manager spoke and agreed on my stage craft for about two weeks.

Based on that arrangement we started rehearsal and bought our costumes for our crew.

We got to the venue on the day of the event for sound check only to be told by the organisers that I have to change my stage act because it involves a 9 year old girl.

They insisted the girl can NEVER go on a Ghana Meets Naija stage because it was a night show and in Ghana children are not permitted to perform after 6pm. They also raised an argument that one of the sponsors was an alcoholic beverage.

I had no choice but to perform dry without any craft. I was not happy.

This year the same Ghana Meets Naija has put DJ Switch on the program and she left the stage a few minutes before 10pm. (She put up a good very show) Clearly DJ Switch is a child and just about same age with my little dancer.

Indeed both of them contested in the recent Talented Kids show on TV3. So I ask myself why the double standards.

And oh yes, Alomo Bitters, an alcoholic beverage was a sponsor of this year's Ghana Meets Naija.

They even mounted a stand right in the auditorium and sold their products there while DJ Switch was live on stage.

Hmmmmm... if I open my mouth p3, they would say Bukom boys do not respect". He added.
