Evangelist Ofori Antwi, who left music group, Antwi ne Antwi, to do the work of God has stated that he regrets quitting secular music.

According to him, he has encountered financial challenges which has affected the manner in which he worships his Maker.

Speaking to Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show, Brunch2Lunch, Tuesday, Antwi Korkor, as he is widely known said he has been compelled to stage a comeback to secular music because of financial difficulties.

“One of the best things to have happened to me is knowing Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour. I was sick and that landed me in the presence of God. Since 2008, I haven’t felt sick. Even if I feel pains, I just place my hand there and get healed. I’m happy to serve God but frankly speaking, I regret quitting secular music. If I had continued, it wouldn’t have gone through this hardship. The timing for my decision to quit was very wrong,” he said.

Evangelist Ofori stressed that his decision to return to secular music is to help him worship God the way he should. He intimated that the hardship, to a large extent, has affected his relationship with God.

“I have children, I pay bills but since 2006, I have been unemployed. Just imagine. I have taken a whole lot of things into consideration and I think the best thing to do to enjoy Christianity is to go back and do my secular music and worship God well. I can’t worship God the way I should because of poverty. Sometimes, I have to lie to people before I can get money to feed my family. Is that the best way to worship God? At first, I could contribute to the development of the church but the last time we were raising funds, I couldn’t even give GHC 1,” he said.
