Biggest Surprises of 2006

Samini (Batman)

Batman made history when he became the first Ghanaian to receive an award at last year?s MOGO award ceremony. He pulled another surprise that he wants to fade away his name ?Batman? and stick to the name, ?Samini?. But hey; people are wondering where the award is because I for instance have not seen it.

Obrafour

Obrafour returns with a new album titled ?Heavy?. Within a few months, he enjoyed massive airplay with the Appietus recorded song, ?Heavy? but was later down by what we all know Obrafour, a Hammer produced song, ?Oko? also by Obrafour and directed by GYO for Phamous People . It is a nice video. But you can still get to watch it on ghanamusic.com?s video section.

Jay Z & Sean Paul Live in Ghana

Jay Z and Sean Paul made debut appearances in Ghana late last year. Jay Z made his appearance in November 25, whiles Sean Paul touched down on December 9th. All international artistes rocked the audience and gave patrons value for their money.

Mzbel

Mzbel was robbed and badly raped by three armed robbers at her residence at Gbawe. Luckily, the armed robbers were caught but after some weeks, they managed to escape by sprinkling pepper in the eyes of the policemen and fled.

Good news trickled in this year that the leader has been caught.

Daasebre Gyamena

Daasebre Gyamena, one of the best highlife singers in Ghana, was arrested in UK for having in his possession cocaine. Ghanaians in Ghana and around the world woke up to hear this news with big shock. Now the case has reached the crown court and we are awaiting final judgement. We hope for the best for him during his trail.

Kwaadee

Okomfoo was painted in the media as going mad. Till now it has not really been confirmed if Kwaadee is mad or not. Let, alone know his whereabouts. The ?Nsem Pii? was a great album and with a little push than what have been done could have gone to the extreme

Baroksy

For almost three years, Barosky was devoted his music life to the genius contemporary highlife singer, Ofori Amponsah. The sad news cropped up from the Foreez Camp after, Baroksy said Ofori Amponsah had failed to go what he promised him in a contract to record him. This news hit a lot of fans of Ofori Amponsah, K. K. Fosu and Kofi Nti as they thought at least Ofori Amponsah should have recorded him for blessing his albums with his voice.
