Artiste managers should not be board members of award schemes - Sonnie Badu

Sonnie Badu Sonnie Badu

Multiple award-winning gospel act, Minister Sonnie Badu has taken to his IG handle to talk about award schemes and more.

Well, the VGMAs is on next week Saturday, and according to Sonnie Badu, it's always good to be awarded. He added that award organizers should make it a point not to involve artiste managers on their board and more.

He posted,

In my view , Awards are very good. Very good in the sense that, as a full time musician you have something to show your children, you have something to prove success was recognized, and that's something they can look up to. I would rather my kids have me to look up to, than look up to others. With this being said, I will really like to advice the groups , organizers and companies who have the passion for putting these things together. Pls pls pls pls pls , get all your facts right. Know exactly what you are doing, refrain from causing confusion between individuals, refrain from personal agenda. How does an artist manager become part of a high profile organization board for an award show? I don't quite get that. How does the absence of an artist from attending a show because he/she is pre-booked automatically disqualify him or her from being nominated? When in history has it ever been mandatory to be present to be granted an award ? Remember, this is someone's hard work , the law of karma is so interesting.....anyway my new resolution is to organize awards shows with neutral people involved for clarity sake......
